PERTG 2013-2014 Conference Scholarships available

PERLOC is awarding up to 6 small grants for amounts up to $500 based on a combination of need and merit to members of PERTG to defray professional costs associated with attending and presenting at conferences.  One larger grant will be considered for an international graduate student to travel to the US in order to present at a conference.  While these conference scholarships are primarily intended to support invited presenters who need assistance with travel costs, applicants giving contributed presentations will also be considered.  (Note:  In order to ensure that the conference scholarships are distributed equitably, only a limited number will be awarded to individuals from the same institution, research group, or graduate advisor.)

One-page applications should include: (a) justification of the need for PERLOC funding, and (b) a description of the impact of the use of the funding on the applicant's professional development and on the field.  Applicants should also provide a breakdown of costs, actual or estimated, for which scholarships will be used.

This round of applications includes requests for meetings held between June 1, 2013 and June 1, 2014.

The deadline for applications is March 4, 2013.
