FFPERPS 2024 Code of Conduct
We are dedicated to providing a respectful and inclusive FFPERPS experience for everyone, regardless of gender identity and expression, age, institutional role, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or class. We especially value the perspectives of students, first time FFPERPS attendees, and attendees from marginalized backgrounds. We expect all attendees to behave professionally during the conference, including formal sessions (e.g., talks, workshops), and informal interactions (e.g., meals, social events). Examples of unprofessional behavior include:
- Harassment in any form, including any verbal, physical, and visual conduct that creates an intimidating, offensive, or hostile environment
- Sexual language and imagery
- Demeaning comments about a person’s professional status or qualifications
- Conduct that has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with another person’s ability to benefit from, enjoy or participate in the event
FFPERPS has an Ombuds team who have volunteered to support the well-being of FFPERPS participants. FFPERPS particiParticipants violating these rules may be expelled from FFPERPS at the discretion of the FFPERPS organizing team.
pants can go to the Ombuds team or leadership team to ask questions about the code of conduct, to report violations of the code of conduct, to get support in surfacing and resolving conflicts with other FFPERPS participants, and to talk through any other concerns about the FFPERPS. The Ombuds team members are: Krishna Chowdary and Charlotte Zimmerman. The leadership team members are: Andrew Boudreaux, Abigail Daane, Joss Ives, and Gina Quan.
