This article explores factors in understanding the positive influence of diversity in problem solving, meeting or exceeding workplace goals, and fostering innovation in both the public and private sector. It examines three larger scale and three smaller scale studies to quantify how diversity affects group performance. The author's findings indicate that gender-diverse and ethno-diverse groups outperform homogeneous groups in multiple metrics.
