Journal of Educational Multimedia and Hypermedia

This paper examines the cognitive and affective impact of a multimedia editing task. During this process, the students were observed to view the creation of externally valuable (i.e., useful outside school) materials as the most important aspect of the experience. Although technology had an important role in student activity, it appears that it was the task that was vital, not how it was accomplished.
