The book is a comprehensive exploration of pedagogical issues in student learning of physics.  This book contains three parts. The first part, "A guide to teaching for learning and understanding", contains a detailed discussion of student physics learning problems and strategies for addressing these topic by topic with references. The second, "Homework and test questions", is a collection of very challenging open-ended homework problems. The last, "Introduction to classical conservation laws", is a guide to a nontraditional sequence in physics teaching. The three parts have been previously published separately. This is an essential reference to physics pedagogy at high school, intro and lower division college and university levels.
