Abstract Title: | Improving Student Understanding of Stern Gerlach Experiment |
---|---|
Abstract: | Stern-Gerlach experiment is a classic experiment which has played a central role in quantum mechanics. Our group is investigating the difficulties that students have in learning Stern-Gerlach experiment and developing and evaluating Quantum Interactive Learning Tutorials (QuILTs) and Peer Instruction tools to improve students' understanding of these concepts. We will discuss common difficulties with these topics and iterative development and evaluation of learning tools to help improve student understanding. *Supported by the National Science Foundation |
