Abstract Title: Assessing students’ problem-solving skills: Measuring the effect of an intervention
Abstract: The Physics Education Research Group at the University of Minnesota has been designing computer coaches to help students develop their problem-solving skills. The assessment of such a complex and multi-faceted skill, however, poses some unique challenges. In this poster, we describe the design, implementation, data analysis, and results from a study conducted to assess the effect of the coaches on students' problem-solving skills in an introductory physics course.
