Abstract Title: | Developing a student outcomes assessment for Next Gen PET |
---|---|
Abstract: | The Next Generation Physical Science and Everyday Thinking (Next Gen PET) curriculum is being used by the Next Gen PET Faculty Online Learning Community (NGP FOLC) as a common context to promote collaboration. We have developed a multiple choice assessment to evaluate student outcomes that is tailored to the Next Gen PET units covered by each individual FOLC member. After piloting different administration procedures, FOLC members now administer the assessment at their own institution via Google Forms. At the end of the semester, they upload their pre and post data to PhysPort's Data Explorer for individual analysis. This talk will present the assessment development process, describe the administration process, and show student learning outcomes to date. |
