Abstract Title: | The Factors That Affect Students’ Persistence in the Undergraduate Physics Program |
---|---|
Abstract: | This study aims to explore the factors that affect physics majors' persistence and identity development over the undergraduate physics program. Students from various stages of the undergraduate degree are asked to participate in a survey and interview that measure their decisions to begin or continue to the program. Georgia State University is a minority-serving institution and introduced a physics teacher certification pathway within the undergraduate program. This study will examine the students' development over various pathways through their undergraduate degree. The initial findings of the study will be presented. |
