Abstract Title: | PERC 20/20: A Sneak Peek at “Insights, Reflections, & Future Directions: Emergent Themes in the Evolving PER Community |
---|---|
Abstract: | Using PERC 2019 as a springboard, we invite attendees to be a part of a dialogue as PERC 20/20 organizers begin making final preparations. To best involve participants in an open discussion, the structure of this parallel session will be an informal discussion facilitated by the PERC 20/20 organizers. In particular, we will explore emergent themes in PER as a scholarly endeavor and as a research community. For example, since its inception PER has served as a confluence of discipline, theory, research methodology, practice, and application. How has this confluence been fruitful for physics education globally, regionally, locally, or otherwise? How has this confluence influenced the very nature of PER itself (those engaged in PER and its infrastructure)? To foster continued collaboration and conversation, a shared documents folder will be made available for review in the weeks prior to the conference and through to PERC 20/20. Reviewing these documents prior to attending the session is not required. Please come to the session ready to ask questions, share ideas, offer suggestions, and contribute! |
