Abstract Title: | A Survey of Teachers' Integration of Earth and Space Science Contexts for Teaching Physics |
---|---|
Abstract: | This poster presents detailed results from a survey administered to secondary physics teachers about the nature, frequency, and motivations for integrating Earth and space science contexts into their teaching of physics. We present details about teachers' comfort, interest, and willingness to incorporate Earth and space science contexts into specific physics topics, as well as types of activities they use to do so. Findings from the survey suggest a number of implications about how curriculum developers can best support physics teachers in an NGSS-era. This research was supported through a subcontract from the NASA Heliophysics Education Consortium to Temple University and the AAPT under NASA Grant/Cooperative Agreement Number NNX16AR36A. |
