Abstract Title: | Designing lab activities by using research-based activities |
---|---|
Abstract: | The goal of our research is to help instructors to design their lab activities. We consider the design strategies and features that are used in research-based activities to develop dependable categories. We use categories to consider 66 different lab activities from 11 different academic sources and analyze these results by using a k-means cluster analysis. The best results were found when the program generated three clusters: scientific thinking, Learning concepts, and Non observation clusters. The activities that fit in the first cluster are mainly concentrated on designing experiments by students, discussion, observations, and qualifications. The second cluster focuses on student observation and prediction. The third cluster consists of Non observation questions and discussion. |
