Abstract Title: | Identity Development Comparison of Physics Majors with Different Career Goals |
---|---|
Abstract: | This study explores how undergraduate physics majors' career goals and actions are related to their physics identity development. Twenty students from different stages of their undergraduate education were interviewed and their career goals and actions investigated. Some students start an undergraduate physics degree with an engineering identity and goals while others begin with a physics identity and physics-related career goals. How these two groups' career choices and actions change/develop and how they relate to identity development through their undergraduate education has been studied. |
