Abstract Title: | Students’ motivation in a student-centered learning environment |
---|---|
Abstract: | Using Glynn's physics motivation questionnaire (2011), we document how students' motivation evolve over time as they complete their physics course taught using research-based teaching techniques. Students physics motivation were established at the beginning of the semester and was again measured at the end of the semester. Our results revealed that the intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy, self-determination, grade motivation, and career motivation seem to be affected by the instructor's teaching style. Details of the data analysis and implications of results will be presented. |
