Abstract Title: | Tracking students engagement with open educational resources and online homework |
---|---|
Abstract: | As online and digital learning tools and resources become more common in instruction, new data science approaches are available to study student learning. In this study we perform correlation data mining of individual students' click stream on both open educational resources and online homework for a large algebra-based introductory physics course. We present the results of this exploratory analysis, along with a preliminary inferential and predictive model. We find that the number of views of pre-lectures videos and the number of online homework submissions are strongly correlated with course grade. |
