Abstract Title: Students’ integration related to recognition
Abstract: We have interviewed undergraduate physics majors regarding their feelings of recognition by professors, peers, and family and the reasons for those feelings.  We found that the level of students' integration with professors determines their feeling of being recognized or not. Even though students stated that having good grades increased their feeling of recognition by professors, they still expressed the need for verbal confirmation from the professors. Most students reported being recognized as a good physics student by their professors matters most compared to being recognized by their peers or family.
