Abstract Title: | Transitioning to Online Learning in an Informal Physics Program |
---|---|
Abstract: | The University of Colorado Boulder-based Partnerships for Informal Science Education in the Community (PISEC) program facilitated activity remotely for the 2020-2021 academic year. Like many other education efforts both formal and informal, we encountered a tremendous number of constraints and challenges to activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. We here document some of these challenges as well as preliminary research on how the informal educators of our program adapted to them. We also report a promising model for partnership between programs like PISEC and programs housed at science centers for the post-COVID era. |
