Abstract Type: | Contributed Poster Presentation |
Abstract: | The retention of undergraduate STEM majors often has many contributing factors. One such factor is the career support that departments and schools provide and how students are able to utilize them. In this study, interviews were conducted with 7 undergraduate science majors to discuss how students perceive their career plan indecision, what resources they found to be most useful, and what additional resources they wish they had. These interviews were analyzed for factors such as types of career support, knowledge of careers, levels of student indecision, and attitudes about career decisions. Among these students, they differed in two dimensions: degree of satisfaction with their current career plans and degree of certainty that they will pursue their current career plans. |
