| Abstract: | This paper responds to recent calls in PER to expand demographic data collection, by providing a synthesis of some recommendations from leaders inside and outside of the field. Questioning objectivity in quantitative data, mitigating systemic erasure, and subverting deficit narratives are vital to conducting demographic research for liberatory purposes. |
