| Abstract Title: | Improving Introductory Physics Laboratory Learning Using Pedagogy Approaches |
|---|---|
| Abstract Type: | Contributed Poster Presentation |
| Abstract: | This research focuses on improving physics laboratory settings by applying pedagogy approaches to our undergraduate and graduate instructional assistants (IA) with diverse backgrounds. IA observations and feedback have shown that incorporating pedagogy into laboratory preparation has increased confidence in IA teaching and approaching students inclusively. It was also shown that students had a better learning experience in the lab with proactive IA assistance. We plan to use qualitative data on future IAs with teaching and no teaching experience to further evaluate our method. |
