| Abstract Title: | A Quantitative Ethnography Study Investigating the Relationship Between Community Cultural Wealth and Physics Identity |
|---|---|
| Abstract Type: | Contributed Poster Presentation |
| Abstract: | Physics bridge programs are designed to widen doctoral pathways for students, yet little is known about how the community-rooted resources of participants in the program intersect with their emerging physics identities. To better understand this connection, we are conducting a quantitative ethnography. Guided by Yosso's Community Cultural Wealth (CCW) framework and critical adaptations of the physics-identity construct, we are performing a secondary analysis of data from participants in physics bridge programs. In this presentation, we will discuss how we the conceptual frameworks used in this study informed our decision-making during analysis, particularly, during segmentation, stanza identification, and coding. |
