| Abstract Title: | Bridging Classical and Quantum Polarization: Effective PD for K–12 Science Teachers |

| Abstract: | In April 2025, 34 middle and high school science teachers participated in one-day professional development workshops on polarization, held at Morgan State University (19 teachers) and the University of Maryland, College Park (15 teachers). These workshops, unique in their approach, guided teachers from classical interpretations of polarization--such as Malus's Law and polarizing filters--toward quantum perspectives, including single‑photon behavior and superposition. The workshops also provided teachers with an implementation plan that they can immediately integrate into their existing curricula. The outcome is to incorporate polarization concepts within a quantum framework into each teacher's lesson, making this workshop directly relevant to their classroom lessons. |
