Timothy M. Briles, Ed.D.
Georgian Court University, known for its pre-college teacher preparation program, hosts an active Physics Education Research group which includes Astronomy Education and involves faculty and students in both the Physics Department and the School of Education. This group was founded in 2009.
Our primary research interest is in how students' cognitive coherence can be enhanced by teacher presentation when informed by an understanding of students' inherent attitudes and methods of uptake. Primary researchers are Anne E. Tabor-Morris, Ph.D. and Timothy M. Briles, Ed.D.
Georgian Court University also hosts the New Jersey NASA Education Resource Center which outreaches to K-12 teachers and for which Dr. Tabor-Morris and Dr. Briles are Co-Directors. They also are involved with NJAAPT and NSTA.
